Reuters: CVS becomes the first drug store chain to stop selling cigarettes

This article for Reuters by Phil Wahba
and Julie Steenhuysen explains the
decision by CVS Caremark to stop
selling tobacco products by Oct. 1, 2014.
This is the first retail merchandiser to
take this step. It is expected to cost
CVS over $2 billion in annual sales;
but it is leading the way for other chain
merchandisers, who are also considering
a similar move to make tobacco less
readily available to the public.
