Bloomberg's Kyle Stock reports that Big Tobacco
is coming back on TV after 43 years. Reynolds
American (RAI) the company that makes Camel
cigarettes will air a 60 second spot in September for
its new Vuse e-cigarette. The U.S. Food and Drug
Administration is drafting its first rules for the
new devices and considering marketing constraints.
The U.S. government banned cigarette ads on TV
and radio in 1971.
Looks like Big Tobacco will always do whatever it
wants without regard to health and safety in the name
of profit. Sad to see they can do whatever they want...
