IBT: Cigarette Smoke toughens some superbugs, makes them more resistant...

Times that certain superbugs 
become tougher and more 
aggressive when exposed to
cigarette smoke. MRSA is a 
bacteria belonging to the 
"staph" group and is known 
to be resistant to most anti-
bacterial drugs. It is the 
causative of pneumonia and 
other serious skin infections.
the research was done at the 
U. of California at San Diego. 
Dr. Laura Crotty Alexander
is the senior author of the study.
