We've been watching this
riveting film on Cancer
by Barak Goodman
presented by Ken Burns
on PBS the last couple of
evenings. It winds up tonight.
Last night, it addressed the
Tobacco Industry's denial
that smoking causes lung
cancer and the medical
efforts doctors pursued to
uncover this relation; and
the changes in radical
surgery and chemotherapy
to fight both lung and breast
cancer. Having lost family
members to both these
maladies, this episode went
right for the heart; and made
me really glad I had the
strength to quit smoking.
This is a must-see program.
